Sporting Champions Grants

Applications for Round 1 of the Local Sporting Champions and Local Para Champions have now closed.

Competing in sporting championships is a great honour and achievement. But it’s no secret that the financial cost can be high.

If you are a competitor, coach or official travelling over 250km to a sporting championship, you may be eligible for up to $1,000 in Australian Government financial assistance.

Applications must be directly made to the Australian Sports Commission before 11.59pm AEST on 31 July 2023.

 

Local Para Champions

The Local Para Champions program provides financial assistance for coaches, officials and competitors aged 12-24 participating in state, national or international championships for athletes with a disability.

If successful, applicants will receive $750-$1000 towards the cost of attending their championships

  • Base Grant: $750
  • Applicants travelling 800km - 1999km to their nominated championships: + $100
  • Applicants travelling internationally or greater than 2000km to their nominated championships: + $200
  • Applicants residing in a rural electorate: + $50
